Say NO to Ketanji Brown a Defender of Child Sex Offenders

by Russel Taub

I work in the Criminal Justice Reform Community, and I would vote NO on Judge Jackson for the Supreme Court. As a policy advisor who works in the field of criminal justice and prison reform and educates elected officials on all levels of government, both Democrat and Republican, I would vote NO on Judge Jackson's Supreme Court Nomination.

Reforming our criminal and prison systems are essential, but to a certain level. We need better oversight of the prisons and the prison guards. We need more accountability, transparency, and education opportunities.

We need to make it easier for people to transition into society. However, the idea of letting out child offenders and terrorists earlier is not part of my criminal justice reform. In addition, after reading many comments from former incarcerated individuals they believe in the same thing.
During the hearing, the Democrats gave perfect examples of how Republican Judges have done the same thing as Judge Jackson did, in regard to giving lesser sentences to child offenders. Nevertheless, It doesn’t mean that they were right in doing so. However, there is a huge difference. They are not going to the highest court of the United States of America.

Judge Jackson had numerous chances to clarify and answer the tough questions of her decision making in regards to giving lighter sentences to child offenders. Judge Jackson failed to make the case that she did right thing and instead put child offenders and terrorists first, rather than the victims. Therefore, after watching the questions and answers portion, it is clear that Judge Jackson should not be confirmed.

Judge Jackson may be better then other Judges when it comes to criminal justice reform. However, in my opinion, criminal justice reform is not a one size fits all solution.

I encourage all the Senators to vote against Judge Jackson confirmation. To vote for her confirmation basically says that you are ok and support child offenders and terrorists over the victims that were harmed.
