The great crisis being ignored by the media is flood of illegal immigrants at our Southern Border.  Supporters of open borders say mercy demands that we welcome all illegal immigrants as refugees.  Opponents say lawless border crossing is not compassion but abuse and human trafficking.  In this week’s program I wrestle with this whole issue of mercy vs. law.  Les Miserables is a timeless example of this conflict.

Pastor Brad Winship: The World is Lying to You

Conservative media has been basking in the sunlight of the Mueller report, which exonerated the President of the unsubstantiated allegation that he colluded with the Russians to win the 2016 Election.  The larger story in all this is the fraudulent reporting of the media.  But this should be no surprise because this is the character of unregenerate humanity.  There is nothing reliable in what they say (Psalm 5:9).  Lies and not truth prevail in the land (Jeremiah 9:3).  This week’s Bible study is a reminder of how often the Scriptures refer to the lies of the wicked.

Pastor Brad Winship: How to Survive the Apocalypse

Our culture is infatuated with apocalyptic entertainment.  It is as if people sense judgment day is coming.  But it is not as if people are being Biblical in this genre because the main character always finds a way to escape the punishment that fall on everyone else.  People are finding false assurance by projecting themselves on the main character.

In this week’s program, I do not discuss how to physically escape the apocalypse with bomb shelters and food rations, but the spiritual preparations described in the book of the Revelation.  We overcome by the word of our testimony and by not loving our lives even when faced with death (Revelation 12:11).  In a sense we survive the apocalypse by not surviving the apocalypse.

The annual pro-life, March for Life is held at the end of January, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.  Each year at this time, I do a program focusing on the abortion holocaust.  The issue can be approach from many angles, but this year I focus on people’s moral blindness to the evil of abortion.  The rationalizations for abortion are something to behold in our fallen world.  Many people assume that the existence of such justifications make the crime less heinous, but the justifications only serve to expose the sociopathic, sear conscience of the citizens of Sodom.  I conclude with a review of the Biblical depiction of abortion – the modern day version of ancient child sacrifice.

Rather than my typical commentary on the news, this week’s program is a flyover exposition on the prophecies of Ezekiel.  Ultimately we need to feed on the Word, not the media.  The media should just be a side illustration for truth.  It should probably take up less than five percent of our thoughts.

Many naïve evangelicals are falling for the ideology of Critical Theory (CT).  In that CT claims to be coming to the aid of the oppressed, unsuspecting Christians can easily mistake the tenets of CT as the goals of Christ; but at its core, CT defines oppression as God’s law and Western Christian values.  CT is the rebellion of the Kingdom of Satan masquerading under the guise of justice and compassion.  Left leaning evangelicals are using the language and principles of CT to criticize the political Right and to propagate a false Gospel.

You may not be aware of its pervasive influence, but once you understand it, the lunacy in our culture is going to make a whole lot more sense.

In essence, it is a form of Marxism that divides the world into the oppressor and the oppressed.  That wouldn’t be so bad if rightly defined, but Critical Theory sees the oppressor as any value that is even tangentially Christian – patriarchy, family, gender, nationalism, morality, private property, etc.  The naïve think Critical theory is justice and virtue because it purports to be coming to the aid of the persecuted, but it is really the old lie of Satan that God’s ways are oppressing the world, and Satan’s lawlessness is liberation.  THIS PROGRAM IS A MUST SEE !

Accusing one’s opponent of racism is the perfect cover for the ungodly.  (1) With the cry of racism, you don’t need to refute your opponent’s superior ideas, and (2) Racism is the only vice that can be criticized in modern relativism.

By twisting the definition and application of racism, legitimate discernment and judgment can be condemned as racist.  This is the operation of the left - to appear to be crusaders against injustice while all along rebelling against the law of God.

In this program, I cover some examples of the false accusations of racism and then describe how the Scripture identifies this as the sin of Blasphemy.

Pastor Brad Winship of God & Country Radio delivers a weekly message from his Monmouth County church.  This week, Pastor Winship discusses the media and its effect on politics and society. 

The media has a powerful influence over the culture.  In the mind of the public, the stories emphasized by the media are the important issues of the day.  Their concerns and opinions unconsciously become our concerns and opinions. The Christian Russian activist Alexander Solzhenitsyn once said the media is the greatest power within Western countries – more powerful than the legislative, executive and judiciary branches of government.

However, the media is only a puppet for a greater shadow organization.  The media can control only what you see and hear on electronic devices; this organization can influence your thoughts.  The hidden organization is the kingdom of Satan , “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience” ( Ephesians 2:2 ).

This week’s program is a reminder of our spiritual battle in heavenly places.
