This was the real "insurrection". NOT what happened last week. In 2010, conservative Republican Scott Walker was elected Governor, and Republicans won majorities in both houses of Wisconsin State Legislature. Unlike NJ Republicans in 1994, these Republicans acted quickly to cut spending and taxes. They also improved public education with less money by passing new laws that limited power and abuses of public school teachers unions. Democrats and teacher unions from around the country responded by assaulting police, storming, occupying, and trashing the State Capitol Building. Their mobs also physically confronted, bullied, and made death threats against Republicans for months. President Obama and the media praised these "protests" and never mentioned the word "insurrection". Dues from New Jersey's NJEA Teachers Union members helped fund "protests" and political campaigns against Wisconsin Republicans. There was little or no punishment of those who broke the law.

Many of the same people, including "community organizers" of OFA (Originally "Obama For America", then "Organizing for America", then "Organizing For Action") were involved in the 2017 riots at Trump's Inauguration in DC, tearing down statues in Charlottesville and elsewhere,, and the 2019 and 2020 riots in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, etc.

Republican Governor Walker survived a well-funded recall election one year later, and was re-elected in 2014. However, he was narrowly defeated in 2018. Unlike Republicans, Democrats are persistent. Roughly 35,000 to 100,000 came to Washington, D.C. to hear President Trump speak and to show their continued support. The First Amendment of U.S Constitution guarantees the right of "the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". Only a small fraction of that crowd went to the Capitol Building. Most entered peacefully, with permission of the Capitol Police as shown in this video. Click this link for full post and video. We are in a very dangerous situation. It took years to get here. It may take years to get out of it. . . if we ever get out of it. Where do we begin? Let’s talk about it.

The past four years of Trump has been a "Catch-22” in politics. Too many with the skills and knowledge to do the right thing instead use politics to gain wealth and power. Too many outsiders, like Trump, want to do the right thing, but fail because they lack the skills and knowledge. We created LibertyAndProsperity.com in 2003 to learn and teach those skills. Unfortunately, there are very few groups like ours. Also, very few candidates took advantage of our resources. (However, those who did, did very well.).

When President Trump was sworn in four years ago, we identified these seven key national issues facing America. Unfortunately, each of those issues is still with us. What, if anything, can we do about them now?

Most schools, colleges, Hollywood entertainment, and even mainstream churches systematically teach, promote, and repeat the lies of America's worst enemies. They falsely claim America caused every evil and injustice in the world since our founding.

  1. Massive, uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration is making America like the poor, violent, and oppressive countries our ancestors escaped from.

  2. “Fake Science” propaganda campaigns on “climate change” and coronavirus promote government action that is destroying the American dream for all but the richest Americans.

  3. TV and Radio Network News, Newspapers and Social Media like Facebook and Twitter systematically attack and lie about us, while blocking us when we try to defend ourselves and explain our ideas.

  4. Fake news, unworkable laws, and leftist judges and prosecutors have made it impossible for police and citizens to protect their homes, businesses, and lives from mobs and other criminals. Riots, lootings, beatings, and bullying have become normal in much of America.

  5. Government spending and debt are completely unsustainable and national bankruptcy, insolvency, or currency devaluation may be the only options..

  6. America was great because for more than 300 years, most Americans wanted and expected nothing from government, other than to be free to make the most important decisions concerning their own lives. Today, most Americans want and expect government and politicians to give them what they want in life.

During the past year, we identified these as being the most important issues facing us in South Jersey. What do you think? Are there any issues we left out? Any that should not be a priority?

2021 Dues and February 2021 Fundraiser: As usual, we are out of funds, and now running bare minimum radio spots and paying only for website and email maintenance. Normally, we raise half our budget from dues and the fundraiser in January and February. Dues of $60 for voting members and $30 for non-voting members are now due.

We have tentatively scheduled our major Washington-Lincoln Fundraiser for Saturday, February 20 at 10 AM. It will again be at the Banquet Room of Sal’s Brick Oven Pizza on New Road (Route 9) in Somers Point. Our speaker will be Alex Newman, author of "Deep State. The Invisible Government Behind the Scenes". Several years ago, Newman spoke to us about his previous book "Crimes of the Educators. . . How Utopians Use Government Schools to Destroy America's Children". Newman will appear from Florida via video link. Because of Wuhan Virus restrictions, we can only seat 20 people. Since this is a fundraiser, we are charging $100 for the first 20. We are also offering Webex online participation with a suggested donation of $50. Details to be provided.

Because we have been effectively shut down on Facebook and Twitter, please also follow us at @libertyandprosperity1776 on Gab.com or Parler.com. Also please invite me, Seth Grossman, a "contact" to your MeWe.com account until we set up a LibertyAndProsperity account there. Because Google, Apple, and other Tech Giants have threatened to destroy those platforms as well, please send us the emails of your friends so we can add them to our list.

Also, because Mailchimp, our bulk email server is cutting off service to other conservatives, we may soon transfer to a safer server. If you have not already done so, please send us you snail mail address. We may end up sending old fashioned post cards to deliver our message again.

I have dealt with this before. In the 1980s, I was very active in helping Jews and other "dissidents" escape from Communism in Russia. During that time, we communicated through carefully written letters, often duplicated by retyping on carbon paper. We numbered our letters, so we know which ones were intercepted by the police.

5. We invite you to be part of our every Saturday morning at 9:30AM discussions. Simply click here to visit Webex.com. Then click "Join A Meeting" in the upper right corner of the page. Did Star-Ledger collude with Murphy A.G. to produce anti-ballot question headline?

Journalism isn’t what it once was.  Today, there is a revolving door between journalism, government, politics, and lobbying.  Today’s journalist is likely to be tomorrow’s political director.

Look at the case of Mark Magyar, one of Senate President Steve Sweeney's top aides.  In December of 2014, Magyar was hired as the Democrat's new Director of Policy and Communications.  Magyar had been a statehouse reporter for the Asbury Park Press and the Bergen Record, as well as the editor of the New Jersey Spotlight.

The corporate and political empire of Democrat Party boss George Norcross – the political machine of which the Senate President is a part – has a history of co-opting or attempting to co-opt local and regional newspapers in that part of New Jersey where his authoritarian rule is almost uncontested.  The machine is in the process of solidifying its rule in its southern New Jersey base, while expanding its power across the state – and beyond.

Mark Magyar is the spouse of Elizabeth K. Parker, Co-publisher and Executive Editor of the New Jersey Hills Media Group.  The group is controlled by the Recorder Publishing Company, a privately held entity in Bernardsville, that owns and publishes 17 local newspapers in Republican Morris County, Somerset County, and Hunterdon County -- and in Republican towns in Essex County.  Their readership comes from towns that usually get the short end of the sick from the Democrats in Trenton.  The company also sells other services, including website development, search engine optimization, "Reputation Management", and "Social Media Management".

Newspapers were never as pure and disinterested as their cheerleaders would have us believe, but at least – once upon a time/ just yesterday – they did constitute a locus of power independent of political machines.  Not necessarily of their corporate advertisers (per Herman and Chomsky), but certainly of base political machines.  Those days are drawing to a close.

We saw evidence of this on Saturday, when the office of Gurbir Grewal, the state Attorney General appointed by Governor Phil Murphy, conspired with Star-Ledger/ NJ.com reporter Rob Jennings to concoct a news headline the Murphy administration could use to undermine the people of Sussex County’s right to vote on Murphy’s Sanctuary State scheme.  At issue was a public question on the November ballot, passed by the Freeholders in April, that asks the voters their opinion on whether Sussex County Sheriff Mike Strada should follow American law on illegal immigration – or the directives of the Murphy administration.

The Democrat Murphy administration is arguing that Sussex County taxpayers should not have the right to vote on issues that affect the performance of county functions that they pay for entirely out of their highest-in-the-nation property taxes.  Taxation without the right to vote sounds pretty un-American to us.

Concurrent with plans to allow illegal aliens to have drivers licenses and to give incarcerated violent criminals the right to vote and hire lobbyists, the Murphy administration is using Grewal in an attempt to bully and intimidate the elected Freeholders of Sussex County into ending plans to allow the people the right to vote on a public question on the November ballot.  Popular sentiment across the state has been running against Murphy, so Grewal’s office was charged with finding a reporter who would provide them with a headline they could use.

Jennings, a former intern with Democrat Governor Mario Cuomo, was used to provide it.  Grewal’s office leaked confidential correspondence to Jennings, who promptly wrote a story with the headline:  “Sussex County caves to Murphy AG, will not put immigration question on ballot.”  It was the journalistic equivalent of performing fellatio for Grewal’s office.

Of course, the headline was false.  Jennings lied.  The Star-Ledger printed fake news.  Only the County Clerk had “caved”.  In fact, the County Freeholder Board had hired a conservative attorney less than 48 hours before to fight the Murphy administration.  This special counsel was charged with creating an updated ballot question with language that defeats the legal objections raised by the Murphy administration, so that Murphy and his cronies cannot hold up its placement on the ballot through legal maneuverings.

Jennings refused to write about it.  Even after he was contacted by Freeholders and the Special Counsel, Jennings refused to correct or update his story.  The lie remained published.

Not only did Jennings break the Code of Ethics of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), but Grewal’s office may have broken its professional code as well.  Word is that both may face ethical enquiries.

Despite the false headline, the Sussex County Freeholders remain resolved to fight the Murphy administration, with or without the assistance of the County Clerk.  And the Freeholders could always bring a lawsuit to compel the Clerk to place the public question on the November ballot.

New Jersey is unique in its forms and ways of political corruption – especially of systemic corruption – in that it rides the wave just ahead of the rest of America.  Sadly, it appears that what we once called journalism is on a rapid descent into the realms of propaganda and in future will be little more than coarse party broadsheets -- advertisements using histrionics worthy of Pravda or the Völkischer Beobachter.

Media Research Center slams NJ Legislature for “propaganda bill”

It’s not quite Joseph Goebbels’ Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda or Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda (don’t all these ideas sound more at home in their original German… or Russian… or Spanish… or Chinese…???) but it’s a start in that direction.  Yep, it is bad enough that the state forces every property taxpayer to subsidize the larger state newspapers by requiring county and local governments to pay for advertisements – notices that they could put on their government websites for free – but now we have direct government funding of so-called “journalism”.  Stand by for the FAKE NEWS to fly.

Our friends at the Media Research Center hit the nail on the head…

NJ Passes State-Funded News Bill - Isn't That Called 'Propaganda?'

By P. Gardner Goldsmith

Glorious news! Following in the footsteps of the Obama-approved and promoted “Portman-Murphy Counter-Propaganda Act” of 2016, which sets aside over $150 million in federal tax funds to hand to dinosaur news media outlets, the legislature of New Jersey is finally ready to do its part! Isn’t that exciting?

Absolutely! As Joe Setyon reports for Reason, both the NJ House and Senate recently passed a bill to create the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium - state-funded news – beyond the already hair-graying public television and radio systems and state-funded colleges in the Garden State.

It’s a $5 million handout to “local press”, because, you know, when people don’t find it in their interest to purchase local newspapers or visit local news websites, they should be forced to pay for what they don’t want…

Right?

Writes Setyon:

The legislation in question creates a nonprofit group, the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium, charged with approving grant applications for local news. The bill has passed both houses of the state legislature; Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, has not yet signed it, but on Sunday he did sign a state budget that sets aside the money.

You can read the full article here:

https://www.mrctv.org/blog/nj-legislature-passes-state-funded-news-aka-propaganda-bill

Setyon adds:

The liberal Free Press Action Fund has been pushing for such legislation for years. The group initially asked for a much larger endowment of $100 million, but it still greeted the news with pleasure. 'Never before has a state taken the lead to address the growing crisis in local news,' State Director Mike Rispoli said in a statement, calling New Jersey  a model for the rest of the nation.'

No thanks. There’s been enough of this nonsense in other areas of American culture. We don’t need it in journalism. And can one still call it “journalism” when it’s funded by the state?

Technically, the more precise term is “propaganda”.

Democrats, their Media, and how they got us Vietnam

The Establishment media talks endlessly about being the sole source of “real” news.  These massive corporations – with financial holdings and economic interests that go well beyond “media” – are really just part of the larger entertainment industry.

Of course, this is just a sales pitch to buy their products.  Establishment media claims it is the best or the only source of reliable news.  And it claims that all “alternative” sources (non-corporate/ non-Establishment/ or in New Jersey, non-subsidized) are so-called “FAKE” news.  That too is a form of advertising – a negative attack on a competing product – not unlike the advertising campaign used to promote this product…

The truth is that Establishment media long ago lost its credibility with the American public.  It happened when it got involved in politics and allowed the desire for a particular electoral outcome to trump its integrity.  It happened in 1964, when Establishment media traded intellectual curiosity (going where the facts took you) for partisanship (presenting the “facts” to achieve a desired end).  You can see the effects today, as in this exchange between two reporters…

The one seems ready to swoon, almost sexually aroused by the pronouncements of the other.  And to what end?  Rasmussen recently released polling numbers indicating that 54 percent of American voters buy Trump’s story on illegal immigration and the treatment of children at the border, while just 35 percent have swallowed the Establishment media’s version.  This is what happens when you sell bullshit for so long.  People turn you off.

***

The 1964 presidential campaign between Democrat incumbent Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) and Republican Barry Goldwater was as contentious as the Clinton-Trump race of 2016.  The Establishment media and entertainment industry overwhelmingly supported LBJ against Goldwater, a populist right winger.

The Establishment pulled out all the stops, even lining up more than a thousand psychiatrists to publicly question the Republican’s sanity…

Screen Shot 2018-06-24 at 11.40.48 PM.png

So much for Establishment media and “fact-checking”.

Long after the election was decided and the Republican safely defeated, the American Psychiatric Society ruled that what had been done to Barry Goldwater was “unethical” and to prevent it from happening again, passed Section 7 in its Principles of Medical Ethics.  Informally called “The Goldwater Rule”, it states that it is “unethical” for psychiatrists to give a professional opinion about public figures they have not examined in person and from whom they have not obtained consent to discuss their mental health in public.

What the Establishment media perpetrated was so egregious that the Courts allowed Goldwater to sue Fact magazine.  Editor Ralph Ginzburg was sued for libel and Goldwater collected $75,000 (approximately $592,000 today) in damages. Now that is “FAKE NEWS”!

Of course, all the major newspapers – led by the New York Times – endorsed LBJ.

Hey, how old are you if you were a voter the last time the New York Times endorsed a Republican for President?

Answer:  At least 82 years old!

Yep, the New York Times has not endorsed a Republican for President since 1956!  How is that for fair and non-partisan?

In its 1964 endorsement of LBJ, the New York Times raised some themes that we recognize today:

“In fact, of the Goldwater-Miller campaign, the less said the better.”

“…if the wrong choice is made, the nation will face foreign disaster and domestic chaos.  The choice is not what it usually is in American Presidential elections: a choice between two variations of the middle.  This time the choice is such that if President Johnson and his administration are defeated, and Senator Goldwater and his adherents are elected, the country will be facing an upheaval of major proportions in both foreign and domestic policy.”

“Defeat of the Goldwater-Miller ticket will help restore control of the Republican party to the ranks of reason and moderation and thereby strengthen a two-party system that has been seriously endangered by their nomination.  But more important than this consideration is the fact that a Goldwater-Miller victory would divide the United States from its allies, would hearten and solidify its enemies, would represent a triumph for the radical right, a defeat of liberalism, a retrogression from the domestic policies that during the past generation have brought this country to its present state of prosperity.  We hope and believe that the American electorate will give the Johnson-Humphrey ticket a resounding victory.”

In aid of achieving this “resounding victory”, the Establishment media went all out… to the point that they willingly shilled for LBJ when he sold the Congress and the American public on the need to provide him with war-powers to pursue a broader conflict in Vietnam.

Later this summer, will fall the 54th anniversary of the Gulf of Tonkin incident – which directly led to America’s war with North Vietnam.  In fact, today we know that the incident was almost entirely fabricated.  That there was, in fact, no “incident.”

But the media was on a “mission” to elect a Democrat President and elect him they did.  Lyndon Baines Johnson won with 43 million votes and 486 electoral votes.  He won 44 of the 50 states and control of both Houses of Congress.

But the lie that helped him win continued to haunt America.  58,000 dead American soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen later – after a decade believing what the Establishment media had been too partisan to question – the facts began to emerge.

Only a fool would trust the Establishment media on any issue in which they have a partisan interest.  It is the same as in 1964, when they lied… and we died.
