NBC “hit job” questions military-style training

Sarah Wallace attended college in the leftist hotbed of Berkeley, California, at a time of protest against the war in Vietnam.  She started her career in West Coast radio back during the era of “Governor Moonbeam” (AKA Jerry Brown).  She’s now out of New York City, where she pursues a relentlessly anti-law enforcement, anti-Republican, anti-Trump agenda.

Berkeley hates the military and has consistently protested against military recruitment on campus – most recently in 2007.  So it comes as no surprise that Sarah Wallace looks down on traditional military training methods embodied in what is known as “boot camp”.

Wallace has inserted herself into the race between Republican Sheriff Mike Strada and Jail Guard Andy Boden – acting as a kind of media consultant to the Boden campaign.  Wallace’s husband is, in fact, a Democrat and media consultant (more on this later).

From her New York City offices at NBC, Wallace is attempting to choose the next Sheriff of Sussex County.  Her beef with Strada?  Sarah Wallace is pro-Sanctuary State, pro-abortion, and anti-Second Amendment.  Mike Strada opposes Governor Murphy’s Sanctuary State scheme, is pro-life, and pro-Second Amendment.

Sarah Wallace is a Bergen County Democrat.  She is what’s called a “hard” Democrat – totally loyal to her party, never missing an election, always supporting whatever Clinton or Murphy that appears on the ballot.  And she is proud of it.

Complicating matters is Sheriff Strada’s central role in opposing Democrat Governor Phil Murphy’s Sanctuary State scheme.  In the past, Sarah Wallace has done interviews that were very favorable to illegals and against members of law enforcement.  In fact, Sarah Wallace is currently being sued by a police officer for her conduct and behavior.

Last November, a New York judge accused someone championed by Sarah Wallace – named Manny Gomez – of “coercing a witness to a gang slaying not to testify.”  According to the New York Daily News (November 3, 2018), police have suggested that Sarah Wallace and Manny Gomez have “an apparent relationship” and that Wallace does stories that favor Gomez.

Given Wallace’s political and ideological biases, we were surprised when we learned that NBC chose her to do a segment on the primary campaign between Sheriff Mike Strada and opponent Andy Boden.  NBC and Sarah Wallace appear to have coordinated the attack on Sheriff Strada with Andy Boden and his campaign.

A week before the Wallace attack aired on NBC, Boden himself bragged to local Sussex County media that the interview was going to be a “hit job” on Sheriff Strada.  And Wallace herself appears to have promoted her “hit job” to leftist blogs who oppose Republican Sheriff Strada over the Sanctuary State issue.

The coordination was so severe, that members of Boden’s campaign were promoting Wallace’s follow-up “hit job” in advance of it even being hinted at by NBC.  Some observers have suggested that this constitutes an illegal corporate campaign contribution by NBC on behalf of Andy Boden.

Wallace’s political and ideological agenda aside, and her manipulation of people on both sides of this race, this might come down to a simple case of a military culture vs. a union culture.  As anyone who has been through basic training knows, military culture is harsh and purposely demeaning – seeking to tear down a recruit in order to build him or her back up.

The culture in a labor union is more protective and coddling.  There is nothing especially wrong in this, but it does present a different perspective.  A real journalist, someone tuned in to more than fashion statements, might have written about this difference in perspective.  But that would be way beyond the blow-dried world that Sarah Wallace inhabits.

Police departments and Sheriff’s offices are para-military organizations, with the military and union cultures existing uneasily, side by side.  First rate military powers – like America, Russia, and China – do not have unionized armed forces.  Unions are only found in the armed forces of places like the Netherlands – whose plan of defense is essentially a telephone call to whomever is invading and the words “We Surrender” in the appropriate language.  That or getting America to defend them and American taxpayers to pay for it.

Yes, in the American military there is no equivalent to the Dutch AFMP – the General Federation of Military Personnel.  Of course, the para-military police and sheriffs are unionized, which often makes for a clash of cultures.  Some leaders in law enforcement seek to impose military-style training and discipline, while others look on their organizations as unionized workers (except that they carry guns, have badges, and have power over civilians).

And just to remind everyone of what military training and discipline is like, we turn you over to Gunny Hartmann…

Is this demeaning?  Is it the end of the world?  Or have Americans become a bunch of snowflakes?  If so, we shouldn’t look forward to tangling with North Korea, let alone Russia or China.  War aint beanbag.

There is a choice to be made here.  Do we want the people to whom we hand guns and badges to be informed by a disciplined, military outlook?  Or do we want them to merely be civilians with guns and badges?  Can we reach a happy medium?

So far as the complaints of individual employees go.  This is why Sussex County needs an Ethics Committee – a real committee, not one made up of hand-picked insiders.  The last Freeholder Board failed to create such a committee.  Jonathan Rose promised, but failed to deliver.  That’s a pity.

Employees – whether PBA, FOP, CWA, or anyone else – should be able to report problems and they need to be taken seriously.  In the same way that the Office of the Inspector General works in the military.  So let’s resolve to ask the Freeholder Board to take action on this soon.  Form an Ethics Committee, so these issues don’t need to be fought out in a political campaign – with bottom feeders like Sarah Wallace using one and all for her own political and ideological purposes.

Malinowski tries to smear opponents of human trafficking

Tom Malinowski is at it again.  Blaming labor unions and working people.  Calling them haters because they fail to adopt his globalist vision of cheap labor, child labor, and slave labor.  In his latest “note from Tom” he insults every working stiff concerned about globalist off-shoring and outsourcing.

But shilling for the very worst forms of corporate globalism is nothing new for Malinowski, a Democrat congressman from Somerset County.  He’s done it all before.

We’ve all heard about the outrages perpetrated by human trafficker Nike sportswear.  For at least twenty years, Nike has been criticized for its labor practices – including the offshoring of jobs to sub-contractors who use child labor and who practice human trafficking or modern day slavery to help Nike turn a very handsome profit.

Yes, Nike has been caught…

According to Wikipedia and numerous other sources, “Nike has been criticized for contracting with factories (known as Nike sweatshops) in countries such as China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Mexico… The company has been subject to much critical coverage of the often poor working conditions and exploitation of cheap overseas labor employed in the free trade zones where their goods are typically manufactured.”

“Nike has faced criticism for the use of child labor in Cambodia and Pakistan… Nike continues to contract their production to companies that operate in areas where inadequate regulation and monitoring make it hard to ensure that child labor is not being used.  A BBC documentary uncovered occurrences of child labor and poor working conditions in a Cambodian factory used by Nike.  The documentary focused on six girls, who all worked seven days a week, often 16 hours a day.”

“As of July 2011, Nike stated that two-thirds of its factories producing Converse products still do not meet the company's standards for worker treatment. A July 2011 Associated Press article stated that employees at the company's plants in Indonesia reported constant abuse from supervisors.”

Sources for this criticism include Naomi Klein's book No Logo and Michael Moore documentaries… including the clips from the one below…

Enter Congressman Tom Malinowski who labels as “racist” or “anti-Semite” any working man or woman who objects to such globalism. According to Tom Malinowski, if you oppose the exploitation of children, that makes you a dangerous “white supremacist”. Since when did standing up to slavery make you a racist?  Who – besides Congressman Malinowski – equates opposing globalism with “anti-Semitism”?

Of course, Tom Malinowski has been shilling for globalism’s worst of the worst for years.  In 2015, when Tom Malinowski was a top State Department appointee (supposedly charged with protecting human rights), he put corporate interests before principle and in an effort to broaden the markets included in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, tried to cover-up and reclassify Malaysia’s human trafficking problem.  Unfortunately for Tom Malinowski, the attempt to downgrade the human trafficking crisis in that country came just as hundreds of bodies of trafficking victims were discovered, buried in a forest.

160 members of Congress – a bi-partisan outpouring – condemned the Malinowski State Department for ignoring the plight of victims of modern day slavery.  Here are some headlines…

State Department Watered Down Human Trafficking Report

Senators: State Department ‘Heartless,’ Lacks ‘Integrity’ After Politicized Human Trafficking Report

Lawmakers threaten to subpoena all information about inflated grades for countries that have failed to crack down on forced labor, prostitution

Earlier in May, 139 graves in camps for human trafficking victims were found near Malaysia’s northern border with Thailand.

160 Members of Congress Call on State Department to Not Upgrade Malaysia Ranking in 2015 Trafficking in Persons Report

Those headlines are from May 2015.  In June 2015, then Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Tom Malinowski testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and claimed that it was all about the trade and passing the Trans-Pacific Partnership.  Malinowski argues:

“I am convinced that, on balance, TPP will greatly aid the effort to advance human rights in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Slavery is Freedom… so long as some corporate pig makes a buck (and screws the workers).  It’s like something out of Orwell.  A nightmare… straight from Tom Malinowski’s lips.

In July 2015, Ranking Democrat Congressman Lloyd Doggett sent a letter to the State Department chastising Tom Malinowski and others responsible for the State Department’s policies.  Congressman Doggett wrote:

“Once again trade is being prioritized over trafficking enforcement.  Bending the standards to reward a country that accepts trade in women, children and forced laborers is wrong.  Malaysia adopting some new provision that will not be consistently enforced is no substitute for effective prosecution… It is easier to lower the standard than to insist that Malaysia protect trafficking victims… this (is) another indication that the Trans-Pacific Partnership is not being used to bring about meaningful change on critical issues.”

Congressman Malinowski should quit trying to stifle debate by calling it names. The only hateful act is Tom Malinowski’s… he plans to end the debate by criminalizing it and sending in men with guns… and dogs (Bull Connor style).  A true liberal, upon considering the crap that flows out of Tom Malinowski’s brain, would never stop throwing up.

Is Democrat Lisa Bhimani lying about her backstory?

We all have a backstory.   It is who we are and where we’ve been up to now.  Up to the present presentation of ourselves.  How we tell it, tells a lot about who we are and what we are up to – is there integrity behind that smiling face… or somebody on the make?

If you are a member of the generation who experienced Woodstock and the Summer of Love, you might remember the rock anthem by the name “My Back Pages.”  It was written by poet, folk musician, and artist Bob Dylan in 1964, to illustrate his backstory – and his growing disillusionment with the protest movement and a political idealism that was deeply elitist – with privileged college kids displaying a sneering contempt for the working class boys being sent to fight and die in Vietnam.

We were reminded of this contempt just days ago, when two Democrat Assemblywomen brought in Jane Fonda for a post-Veterans Day event to celebrate that notorious woman who once counseled the government of Communist North Vietnam to “execute” captured American military personnel, labelling the captured American soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines as “war criminals”.  Here is the woman the Democrats called “a hero” – in her own words:

And now they want to add to their ranks.

The two Democrat Assemblywomen who brought Jane Fonda into New Jersey… to praise her, and slobber over her, and kneel at her alter… those Democrat Assemblywomen are hoping to add a few more comrades to their caucus during next year’s legislative races.  One is Lisa Bhimani, the Vice Chairwoman of the Morris County Democrat Party and one of the organizers of the anti-Trump protest movement in New Jersey.

It was Lisa Bhimani’s group that led a series of rather uncivil protests against Vietnam Vet Rodney Frelinghuysen, accusing the aging veteran of all manner of improprieties and cowardice – and successfully sowing such a distaste that the aging gentleman simply walked away.  Of course, the state of his health didn’t help matters… and they knew that.

Lisa Bhimani is a medical doctor who has practiced in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Providence, Rhode Island, but who – after moving to New Jersey – no longer practices here.  Dr. Bhimani has provided starkly different reasons for not practicing in New Jersey.

One backstory claims that she stopped practicing medicine so she could get involved in politics and “devote her time to getting Democrats elected throughout Morris County.”  Wow, that’s some kind of idealism… to trade helping people through medicine… for political party politics. Anyway, that’s the backstory on the Morris County Democrat Party website. (https://morrisdems.org/about-us/meet-our-officers-2/)

Another backstory is the rather butt-kissing one she provided to Jane Fonda’s Hollywood pal Chelsea Handler, a notorious Pro-Abortionist and a pontificating bore.  Warning: Prepare to cringe…

This backstory, like the one she provided in 2017 as a candidate for the State Senate, revolves around her becoming down with an illness and emerging with a new found political purpose.  It is an old backstory, once used by the Emperor Caligula himself. Here is how it appears on her CROWDPAC page (yes, that’s P-A-C, for political action committee):

“From a young age Lisa was raised to be a fighter for the rights of women.  She campaigned alongside her mother at the age of 6 when the Equal Rights Amendment came through Colorado.  She volunteered on Congresswoman Pat Schroeder's congressional campaign, the first female congresswoman from Colorado…

Lisa moved to NJ in 2004 for her husbands job and shortly thereafter took a position as an OB-Gyn at Overlook Hospital.  Unfortunately she had to cut her career short due to a battle with Lyme disease that changed her life.  She went from working as a doctor to a patient in the ICU over a 2 week period.  She spent a summer in a wheelchair and on a ventilator.  She is much better now.  But this experience solidified her position as a staunch advocate for affordable, universal health care.

Motivated by the election of Trump, after having lived in NJ under the original political bully Governor Christie for 8 years, Lisa decided to run for NJ State Senate.”  (https://www.crowdpac.com/campaigns/341742/lisa-bhimani)

Ah yes, the story of the phoenix again.  Yes, yes, we do love the concept of old wine in a new bottle, but wait… there’s a third backstory.

Here is the backstory Dr. Bhimani provided to her alma mater – Brown University.  It is in her words, written by her, provided by her to Brown.

“My road to medicine was less traditional.  After graduating from Brown with a degree in International Relations, I worked for a consulting firm for a year and then decided I wanted to go into medicine.  I completed my pre-med requirements at Bryn Mawr (they have a special program for this) and then attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.  I returned to Brown for my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  After residency I joined a wonderful, all-female private practice in Providence and practiced at Women and Infants Hospital.  During my third year of residency I had my son, Nicholas, and had my daughter, Bella, about 3 months after completing residency.  My husband Anish (Brown '91 also) was offered his dream job in New York at the end of 2003, and we decided to relocate to New Jersey at that time.  I stopped working when we moved so I could be a mother to the two children I had had during the busiest time of my life.   I had wanted to return to work part-time, but due to the high cost of malpractice insurance in New Jersey, that has not been possible. So, currently I am a full-time stay-home mom.” (https://sites.google.com/a/brown.edu/brown-class-of-1991/home/class-profiles/lisa-bhimani)

Holy dogshit!  Could it be so?  Could the real reason why Dr. Bhimani doesn’t practice medicine be that the layering of health care mandates in New Jersey has made it impossible for her to do so?  Is Dr. Bhimani’s own Democrat Party the reason for her giving up medicine? Maybe somebody should ask her?

Okay, we will.  Hey Dr. Bhimani, is it so???

While we wait for her answer, kick back and enjoy this anthem of disillusionment with the protest movement and with an elitist ideology that looks down its nose at ordinary Americans…

Shame on Mikie Sherrill for trashing a Vietnam Vet

Is Mikie Sherrill full of shit or what?

She knew that Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen was getting up there in age and that his health was in decline.  She also knew that he was one of the most bi-partisan members of Congress… known for his mild, gentlemanly demeanor, respected by both parties, willing to work with all sides to find solutions.

This was the man Mikie Sherrill set her Antifa hoodlums on.

They screamed and shouted down old Congressman Frelinghuysen – spat insults at him, called him vicious names, trashed his name and all the good works that he stood for.  Just as Rodney Frelinghuysen was about to secure mass transit service for Sussex County… Mikie Sherrill’s loudmouths tortured the old fellow, drove up his blood pressure, rattled his nerves, to the point that he quietly exited the stage.

Good job, dirtbags.

You lost New Jersey one of its most powerful advocates in Congress – no, not with press releases, but in his quiet way, he knew how to get things done in Congress. He secured the post of Chairman of the Appropriations Committee in 2017. In this powerful position, Rodney Frelinghuysen would have been able to accomplish so much for our state.  Now that’s all gone.  You killed the guy who was in the best position to serve our state and don’t think for one moment that some wet-behind-the-ears freshman is going to make a patch on Rodney’s arse.

What got us to thinking about this was candidate Mikie Sherrill’s bullshit cable advertisement in which she poses in front of a helicopter that wasn’t in Vietnam and talks about how she wants to be a “bi-partisan” force for good. That’s bullshit.  You just killed off the most effective “bi-partisan” force for good in the state.

These are just words to Mikie Sherrill.  She thinks she’ll get credit for saying them, even though her actions have rendered them meaningless.  She reminds us of the  clueless schoolgirl in that send-up from the 80’s.

In her campaign advertisement, Mikie Sherrill spouts off some more bromides like this… “For decades the people of New Jersey have been footing the bill and paying the price of Congress’ inability to work in a bipartisan manner with input from both parties… That’s why I’m running for Congress.  We need new leadership in Congress and leaders who will put partisan politics aside to get the job done for families and the communities they serve – especially here in New Jersey.”

Wow, Mikie Sherrill has certainly strung a lot of meaningless platitudes together for that one.

How can anyone who plays at being a member of the French Resistance while pretending that 2018 America is 1942 France under Nazi occupation even bring up the word “bi-partisan” and keep a straight face?  Mikie Sherrill and her ilk are living in a historical action video game come to life… and they are acting it out.

Some are worse than others. A mixed-race couple having breakfast at a café were set upon in Philadelphia because they happen to hold free-market ideas on economics and somebody recognized them.  Racial epithets were shouted at them by enlightened members of the “Resistance”.

The Antifa “resistance” smashed up a United States Marine Corps recruiting office and attacked police because… heck, who needs a reason these days?  Because it is there?

Same reason they went after Vietnam Vet Rodney Frelinghuysen… because he was there, in the way, somebody wanted the cool title or somebody wanted to do the job it took him twenty years to be in a position to do… but that’s all over now.  Freshmen congresspersons don’t get to chair the Appropriations Committee.  That’s all over now, for New Jersey, our loss… because Mikie wanted a cool title.

Forget Russia, this is how America interferes in elections

We've been hearing for some months how Russia may or may not have interfered in the 2016 presidential election.  Supposedly, this was done through attempted computer hacking, although other ways have been suggested as well.  Some in the media and entertainment industry -- as well as many within the Democrat Party -- have described this as "the worst attack on our country since September 11, 2001."

Wow!  Are we forgetting who we are?  When it comes to "putting your guy in charge," America is no slouch.  And we don't Mickey Mouse around with computers when we do it.

Once upon a time in a faraway land (that Americans got to know real well) called Vietnam, there was this President named Ngo Dinh Diem.  Diem was an ally of the United States... until he wasn't.

The U.S. government didn't like the political turmoil that resulted when Diem's Roman Catholic party ruled Vietnam at the expense of the Buddhist parties.  There was government-sponsored sectarian violence -- Vietnam's version of "The Troubles" visited upon Northern Ireland or the Waco incident on a grander scale.  So the American government made the decision to involve itself in the politics of another country.  We'll let Wikipedia take over from here:

"DEPTEL 243, also known as Telegram 243, the August 24 cable or most commonly Cable 243, was a high-profile message sent on August 24, 1963, by the United States Department of State to Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., the US ambassador to South Vietnam. The cable came in the wake of the midnight raids on August 21 by the regime of Ngo Dinh Diem against Buddhist pagodas across the country, in which hundreds were believed to have been killed. The raids were orchestrated by Diem's brother Ngo Dình Nhu and precipitated a change in US policy. The cable declared that Washington would no longer tolerate Nhu remaining in a position of power and ordered Lodge to pressure Diem to remove his brother. It said that if Diem refused, the Americans would explore the possibility for alternative leadership in South Vietnam. In effect, the cable authorized Lodge to give the green light to Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) officers to launch a coup against Diem if he did not willingly remove Nhu from power."

"The coup d'état was designed by a military revolutionary council including ARVN generals led by General Duong Van Minh.  Lucien Conein, a CIA operative, had become a liaison between the US Embassy and the generals, who were led by Tran Van Don. They met each other for the first time on 2 October 1963 at Tan Son Nhat airport. Three days later, Conein met with General Duong Van Minh to discuss the coup and the stance of the US towards it.  Conein then delivered the White House's message of American non-intervention, which was reiterated by Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. the US ambassador, who gave secret assurances to the generals that the United States would not interfere...  On 1 November 1963, Minh and his co-conspirators overthrew the government in a swift coup. With only the palace guard remaining to defend Diem and his younger brother Nhu, the generals called the palace offering Diem exile if he surrendered. That evening, however, Diem and his entourage escaped via an underground passage to Cha Tam Catholic Church in Cholon, where they were captured the following morning, 2 November. The brothers were assassinated together in the back of an M113 armored personnel carrier with a bayonet and revolver by Captain Nguyen Van Nhung, under orders from Minh given while en route to the Vietnamese Joint General Staff headquarters.  Diem was buried in an unmarked grave in a cemetery next to the house of the US Ambassador."

Yep, when America interferes in someone else's politics it doesn't do its hacking with a computer... we use a bayonet.

But the story doesn't end here.  In 2003, the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, released some newly archived tapes that included a telephone conversation from February 1, 1966, between President Johnson and Senator Eugene McCarthy.  Harvard historian and author Monique Brinson Demery came across it and cited it in her 2013 book on the Vietnam of that period.   Here is what the President of the United States, a liberal Democrat icon, had to say about the way in which America interferes in the politics of other nations:

"We killed him (Diem).  We all got together and got a goddamn bunch of thugs and we went in and assassinated him.  Now, we've really had no political stability since then."

That's how we roll.

If you want to hear the President's voice on tape, it's on YouTube:

And that is how we roll...
