Mikie Sherrill's campaign tries to explain...

Democrat congressional candidate Mikie Sherrill is getting bashed by her primary opponent for saying one thing and then doing another.  Her campaign's spin doctors are having a very hard time explaining this to the media...

Sherrill's opponent, Tamara Harris, announced earlier this week that her campaign will begin running attack ads on cable TV.  The ads spotlight Sherrill's acceptance of $18,520 in campaign contributions from lawyers in the firm hired by the corporate giant Toys "R" Us in its bankruptcy proceedings.  The bankruptcy is expected to eliminate 30,000 jobs, while protecting the more than $8 million in bonuses handed out to corporate executives.

Sherrill has tried to portray herself as a liberal without corporate interests but the ad links Sherrill to the corporate law firm doing the bankruptcy and argues that she is, as a former federal prosecutor, part of the establishment, as indicated by her campaign's acceptance of special interest contributions.
