Sussex Dems silent on BLM support of Cuban regime.

By Sussex Watchdog

For months Sussex County Democrats have loudly proclaimed their support for the neo-Marxist* Black Lives Matter (BLM) Movement. They have done so at public meetings and on social media, where they have denounced those who disagree with them.

Suddenly, they have gone silent now that Black Lives Matter has come out against the administration of President Joe Biden over the question of democracy for the people of Cuba. That’s right, Black Lives Matter – an organization that wants to defund the police here in the United States – supports a foreign police state in Cuba. It’s the ultimate hypocrisy!

Last week, a Newsweek headline asked: Why Is Black Lives Matter Defending the Totalitarian Cuban Regime? The Newsweek column added:

The anti-government protests that have rocked Cuba in the last several days are the most dramatic expression of discontent seen on the island in six decades of communist rule. President Biden has sent a strongly worded message of solidarity with "the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom" against "Cuba's authoritarian regime," praising the protesters' assertion of "fundamental and universal rights."

…Yet not everyone was united in condemnation.

Most prominent among these is the Black Lives Matter movement, whose statement posted yesterday blamed Cuba's economic troubles on the United States embargo and hailed the Cuban regime's "solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent." According to the BLM statement, "The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination. United States leaders have tried to crush this Revolution for decades." Preposterously, the statement also accuses the U.S. of "undermining Cubans' right to choose their own government."

The "choice," in this case, is a one-party system in which all candidates for political office must be vetted by Communist Party-controlled committees.

The BLM Movement statement specifically mentioned Cuba’s support for convicted cop-killer terrorist Joanne Chesimard (aka Assata Shakur): “Cuba has historically demonstrated solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent, from protecting Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur through granting her asylum, to supporting Black liberation struggles in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, and South Africa.”

BLM’s statement made national news:

BLM hypocrisy: Defund American police. Support Cuban police state.

Democrat Commissioner candidates Mike Vrabel and Scott Paul have made statements in support of the neo-Marxist BLM Movement. Scott Paul has called himself an organizer for BLM events. He used his involvement as a credential to gain the Democrat nomination. Sussex County Democrats don’t hesitate to suggest that county residents who have never been convicted of a crime are criminal terrorists but are strangely silent about a convicted cop-killer and terrorist. Why? Because Joanne Chesimard/ Assata Shakur is a neo-Marxist icon and a hero of BLM?

Last year, a chamber of the New Jersey Legislature passed a resolution explicitly supporting the same BLM (Black Lives Matter) Movement that has now formally lent its name and support to a totalitarian Communist dictatorship. In doing so, BLM has made it abundantly clear that they do not represent Black Americans who are not Communists or totalitarian or pro-dictatorship or anti-democracy. In short, BLM hardly represents any Black Americans at all.

It is time for Vrabel and Paul to man up and tell us where they stand.

*Some dispute that Black Lives Matter is neo-Marxist as the movement is based not on economic class but rather on racial or ethnic identity. They argue that the latter is more indicative of Fascist Collectivism rather than true Marxism, no matter how much the BLM Movement’s leaders claim to be “trained” Marxists.

“It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics.”

BLM backs the Cuban regime. Will the NJ Legislature end its support of BLM?

By Rubashov

A Newsweek headline asks: Why Is Black Lives Matter Defending the Totalitarian Cuban Regime? Why indeed?

Newsweek continues:

The anti-government protests that have rocked Cuba in the last several days are the most dramatic expression of discontent seen on the island in six decades of communist rule. President Biden has sent a strongly worded message of solidarity with "the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom" against "Cuba's authoritarian regime," praising the protesters' assertion of "fundamental and universal rights."

The "choice," in this case, is a one-party system in which all candidates for political office must be vetted by Communist Party-controlled committees.

Wow. “All candidates for political office must be vetted by Communist Party-controlled committees?” Functions something like the county “line”.

The BLM Movement statement specifically mentioned Cuba’s support for a convicted cop-killer: “Cuba has historically demonstrated solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent, from protecting Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur through granting her asylum, to supporting Black liberation struggles in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, and South Africa.”

An anti-(American) police organization that supports a foreign police state. An actual police state. The real thing. Not some academic Karen’s imaginings.

Here is some news coverage of BLM’s madness:

BLM… a Ponzi scheme?

A few days ago, a group of corrupt Democrat ward heelers, that included state legislators, put out a statement attacking Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli for his support of the Cuban people in their push for democracy.  Perhaps, now we know why.

May they now quickly consign their movement to the waste bin of history.

Newsweek reveals corruption at top echelons of NJ State Police

By Sussex Watchdog

At least two active Democrats have been connected with Black Lives Matter related harassment attempts aimed at Sheriff Mike Strada and his family.  As for the shooter who reportedly fired upwards of ten rounds at the Sheriff’s home (with his family inside), that’s been kept under wraps by both the New Jersey State Police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s office.

Meanwhile, the weirdness continues…

Today, Newsweek magazine (one of the nation’s top magazine titles) ran this “exclusive”:  Top New Jersey State Police Officials Stalled Corruption Probe, Documents Show.

The article begins:  In January 2017, Laura Gallagher told New Jersey State Police troopers she was a victim of sexual assault. The detective who interviewed her believed her account and secured a warrant for the suspect. His work on the case won him a commendation. But three-and-a-half years later, Gallagher's alleged assailant is still free.

Interviews with state troopers, prosecutorial staff and other individuals involved in the case—all of whom requested anonymity for fear of reprisal—and a review of hundreds of pages of confidential documents appear to show that officials in the highest echelons of the State Police stymied a corruption complaint against the county prosecutor's office that had been lodged by troopers handling Gallagher's case.

In a deposition in a related proceeding, Acting State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan, the force's top official, recalled an exchange with the prosecutor's office shortly after the suspect was charged.

A transcript of the October 2018 deposition, which was obtained by Newsweek, shows that Callahan intervened in the burgeoning dispute between Sussex County prosecutors and state troopers over whether to pursue Gallagher's claims. During the deposition, Callahan agreed that "we'd look into it."

Callahan's involvement damaged morale among the rank and file at Sussex Station, the State Police barracks. Ultimately, the assault case was left unresolved, the troopers grounded and the corruption complaint buried.

Internal dissension from several investigators who came to Gallagher's defense resulted in the transfer of six state troopers, a decision that has spawned several lawsuits and a labor grievance against the State Police, all of which are still ongoing.

On January 31, 2017, Gallagher identified her alleged assailant as the son of someone well-connected to Morris County government. The New Jersey State Police quickly tracked down this individual and, after an interrogation, determined there was enough probable cause to pursue charges.

The day after the suspect was released and officials in the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office refused to bring charges, State Police officers suspicious of the prosecutors’ motives reported their concerns to the Official Corruption Bureau of the New Jersey State Police.

The Corruption Bureau formally opened a corruption probe into the actions of the prosecutor's office. Yet, over three years later, that probe is dormant and it appears no investigative work is being done. Officially, the case remains open.

Newsweek continues:  What is clear, however, is that in the weeks after the corruption probe was initiated, Callahan, then the deputy superintendent of operations, became closely involved.

After a whistleblower complaint was filed, according to depositions, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan intervened in the process and held meetings with those involved.  Meanwhile, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s office had taken over the case.  Newsweek continues:

For Gallagher, that meeting with the prosecutor's office still evokes painful memories of her original trauma.

"I couldn't believe it," Gallagher told Newsweek. "They told me no one would believe me. That what I said happened was impossible. That it wasn't that bad—he didn't fully rape me. That I needed to take back my accusations. That I had to drop the charges against him."

"But I still wouldn't do it," she said. "I left there shaken and ashamed and once again, scared for my safety. I went there for help and I feel I was victimized all over again."

After the meeting, during which Gallagher was asked to hand over her phone for data analysis, she returned to Sussex Station, calling "with an overwhelming concern of how two women from the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office attempted to 'coerce' her into dropping the charges against the accused and how she was 'assaulted again' by the two women," New Jersey State Police Detective Darran Crane wrote in a supplemental report obtained by Newsweek.

The troopers, until now uncertain as to the reason behind the irregularities surrounding this case, began to suspect that prosecutors were influenced by (the suspect’s) father and his political stature.

Crane noted in his report that Gallagher said "she was concerned that the accused was hooked up due to his father being an attorney or having some type of political ties, thus 'getting away with all the crimes he has committed.'"

"The behavior of the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office was so abnormal, so outrageous that they could only draw one conclusion—that the prosecutor's motive was potentially corrupt," the State Police official with direct knowledge of the case told Newsweek.

The Official Corruption Bureau gathered a great deal of evidence and presented the charge, which was soon shut down.  Newsweek reports that the head of the corruption unit, gave the order, according to a State Police officer with direct knowledge of the situation.

Newsweek reports that State police were told to “Shut it down, this is bigger than all of us!”  The New Jersey State Police did not respond to multiple requests for comment about the allegations when contacted by Newsweek.

The Official Corruption Bureau was notified that what was intended to be a corruption probe of the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office would instead be pursued as an internal investigation against the very State Police officers who raised the alarm. According to documents reviewed by Newsweek and sources with direct knowledge of the probe, there was no substantive investigative work done on the corruption case.

According to Callahan’s deposition, Chris Porrino, then New Jersey's attorney general, and now an attorney for nursing home owners in Sussex County became involved and advised Callahan that the attorney general's Division of Criminal Justice, not the State Police, had jurisdiction over an investigation into county prosecutors.

The State Police officer who relayed the command to quash the corruption probe, was promoted to his current rank of major and is now in charge of the governor's security detail.  The suspect was again arrested in 2019, on a different matter.  As to the victim, Newsweek reports:

Gallagher, whose initial ordeal was never brought to court, did appear before a judge in an attempt to obtain a permanent restraining order against (the suspect) in May 2017. The second-highest ranking official at the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office was called to present evidence on (the suspect's) behalf, including text messages the office had previously obtained from Gallagher's phone that could “call into question” her “credibility and character.”

The judge ultimately denied Gallagher's request, leaving her, her mother and her legal representation in tears. Today, she still believes there were other forces at play in her odyssey.

“I really hope these people are held accountable,” Gallagher said. “They took a horrible event in my life and made it that much worse. They should be ashamed and punished.”

"At any given moment there is an orthodoxy, a body of ideas which it is assumed that all right-thinking people will accept without question. It is not exactly forbidden to say this, that or the other, but it is 'not done' to say it, just as in mid-Victorian times it was 'not done' to mention trousers in the presence of a lady. Anyone who challenges the prevailing orthodoxy finds himself silenced with surprising effectiveness. A genuinely unfashionable opinion is almost never given a fair hearing, either in the popular press or in the highbrow periodicals."

Are celebrities like Lady Gaga new model “Christians”?

One famous actress once observed of another… “that type would wear a gold-plated dog turd around her neck to get attention.”

And so we come to Lady Gaga, the latest in a long incarnation of “entertainers” who begin by desperately seeking public attention… and end with thinking themselves the centers of the universe.  Just when did court jesters (and these jesters perform, first and foremost, to gain the favor of a fashionable elite) replace philosophers and theologians?

The Gagster has been in the news again, decrying the existence of any outpost of traditional Christianity – you know, the kind that existed for a couple thousand years before the coming of her hirsute arse – and suggesting that Christians follow her interpretation of the New Testament.  Yes, the Gospel as read by Lady Gagged and Gagged Again.

Not that she’s read the Bible… no, she’s just kind of “felt” it.  But hey, feelings trump knowledge, right?  So this is the Gag… read it:

“Here it is. Lady Gaga calls herself a Christian and then tries to convince the rest of the world that Vice President Mike Pence is not a good representation of what Christianity actually is. Why? Because he believes in traditional marriage between one man and one woman. Gaga's comment came after people on the Left became outraged to learn that Karen Pence is going to teach at a Christian school that follows biblical teaching about sexuality. That led to broad attacks against Christian schools in general, revealing that they have become the next big target for the anti-Christian Left.

…It exposes the tacit end game of an unseen spiritual force in this no-holds-barred age of fury – to defeat the cultural impact of the Christian faith by redefining it.”

If they can redefine what Christianity is – update it into something fitting their image – they can then simply define away traditional Christianity (the 2,000+ years old religious faith) as a common hate crime, something not protected by the First Amendment.  And then they will criminalize its practice.

This new model “Christianity” revolves around sex.  It calls itself “progressive” when, in fact, it is a regression into the unrestrained carnality and violence of the religions of antiquity.  It “celebrates” satisfying the “animal” in mankind that Mohandas Gandhi warned about.

Of course, the more “progressive” members of our political class, failing to come to terms with America’s relative economic and cultural decline, have happily embraced the promise of the politics of sex.  Instead of assuring voters of a “chicken in every pot” they tout “orgasms for every peccadillo.”

In a politics dominated by a One Percent who long ago stopped worrying about things like food and housing (Governor Murphy anyone???), the endless quest for sexual fulfillment can fill the vacuum.  Aldous Huxley observed: “As political and economic freedom diminishes, sexual freedom tends compensatingly to increase.”  (Brave New World, 1932)

Stephen Baskerville has written an excellent book on what Newsweek magazine described as “the politics of sex” and it is a must read for every legislator and policy maker in New Jersey.  Baskerville is a scholar of political science and a leading authority on divorce, child custody, and the family court system.  He holds a BA in International Relations from American University as well as a PhD in Political Science and History from the London School of Economics.  Baskerville is currently Professor of Government and Director of the International Politics & Policy program at Patrick Henry College.  Prior to this he was Professor of Political Science at Howard University.

The book is called, The New Politics of Sex (The Sexual Revolution, Civil Liberties, and the Growth of Government Power).  In his book, Baskerville outlines the emergence of a new political ideology that derives its claims to political power from neither economic relations or ethnicity or race – but from control of sexuality.  He notes that, until recently, scholars and journalists have been reluctant to analyze this new phenomenon with any depth or detachment – for fear of repercussions.  One critic had this to take away from reading the book:

“I found it intriguing to understand how the roles of the sexes have not really changed. Women are still predominately the ones who care for children – they just do it as day care workers or welfare recipients now – and men still predominately provide the financial support – they just do it by paying court ordered child support now, or by paying tax dollars that the government redistributes to women on welfare.

What predominately has changed is that we’ve gone from having nuclear family units with a man at the head of it who is looked to for leadership and support, to being a herd-like society with government at the head, giving the orders, and being looked to take care of us.

Instead of individual family units, we’ve become more like one big family with government as our daddy. And instead of that daddy taking us to church once a week to worship God, our new daddy takes us to the government schools five days a week where we learn to serve the state in the new religion of socialism.”

Oh, and where our children learn that pot is “medicinal”, abortion is a “rite of passage”, and STD’s are a normal by-product of a life well lived.  Happy days!
